Paradigm Shift

Posted by on April 16, 2011

We see it every year in CREA. Especially with the people who are here for the first time. Paradigm shifts.

Paradigm shifts? Right. That’s the transformation that people go through when they first get to know the creative process; they acquire a totally new insight in how to approach challenges and problems.

Even me – at my seventh CREA – I made a huge paradigm shift today as I saw that I had taken the wrong approach to my problem. Sometimes we see people confused about how to take this change of view home and our advice will always be the same. I’d like to tell you what I think it is based upon:

A couple of years ago – in 2004 to be specific – I had an experience with this very same struggle at CPSI in Buffalo. Sid Parnes suggested to me not to try to sell a tree to anyone but to plant a seed. One who did not experience the energy and hands-on tools given here at CREA cannot understand what it means to have the pathway to solutions right in front of you.

Are you ready for a paradigm shift? Sign up for CREA 2012 and you’ll know what I mean.
